Expenditure Reductions Associated with a Social Service Referral Program

 

The retrospective, secondary data analysis linked social service referral data with health care expenditures in 2 annual periods, before and after the first social service referral.

Patients who reported all their social needs were met experienced an 11% reduction ( $2601 ) in total health care expenditures 12 months post-referral
