AACP & ACT
Three Signature Programs

We are excited to announce our 3 upcoming signature programs that will highlight students, faculty, and colleges/schools of pharmacy for their work in innovation and transformation of community pharmacy practice. These programs have been made possible by a grant from the Community Pharmacy Foundation to the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and the support of the AACP Transformation Center. These programs are set to launch beginning in Fall 2023. Click on the links below to learn more about each program.

Launching in Fall 2023, this program invites students enrolled in an accredited PharmD program to apply to join a cohort of 50 students nationwide who aspire to be leaders in community pharmacy practice. Students accepted into the program will engage in synchronous learning with community pharmacy and faculty leaders nationally. There will be 4 virtual sessions held once a month beginning in January 2024 through April 2024, and an immersive online workshop held in May-June 2024 with networking and presentations. Students will be recognized nationally through the ACT Pharmacy Collaborative website, communication with our national association partners, and networking opportunities with leaders nationally. Students will receive a certificate of completion and pin at the completion of the program.

Launching in Fall 2023, pharmacy educators interested in engaging with community pharmacy thought leaders, practice leaders, and implementation science leaders can apply to join this educational badge program. Participants will engage in knowledge/training opportunities and be required to prove their competency in various areas through completion of engagement/implementation/ dissemination opportunities with practice partners and/or academia colleagues. Focused topics will include: business operations, financial models/billing for services, payer engagement/contracting, and more. Participants who complete the program will receive an online badge, certificate and pin.  Participants who complete the program will be recognized on the ACT Pharmacy Collaborative website.

Launching in Winter 2023/2024, Community Pharmacy Centers of Excellence Framework and recognition will be released.  Colleges/Schools are encouraged to apply for this recognition based on work they are doing to lead community pharmacy transformation through teaching, service/advocacy, scholarship, and leadership support. This national application will be open to all accredited colleges/schools of pharmacy in the United States. A national leadership group, led by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, will review applications. Colleges/Schools will be recognized at the AACP Annual Meeting in 2024, through national social media, and recognition on the ACT Pharmacy Collaborative and AACP sites.
